There is only really one good option for a foundation, and that is concrete. If you look at what Concrete Stroud based providers www.monstermixconcrete.co.uk/concrete-stroud/ do, they will confirm that it’s the best option all around. So why do we use concrete to such a degree for the foundations? The answer is simple and easy to answer.

Every decent home needs to have a solid base. In the past, humans were happy to build straight onto the earth without anything under the wood and brick home. In most cases, this was due to cost, but as the structures they created began to fall down, the idea that perhaps putting it on something more solid than dirt might be an idea. As an inspiration, they could look at Greek and Roman structures that started with marble below the ground as a base.

They also had the religious teaching of Matthew 7 to remind them. In this parable, Jesus makes the point that a rock is a solid foundation rather than sand. Although he was talking about reliance on faith rather than building practices, it did strike a chord with many people who realised there was some good sense to his words.

Concrete is a material that can be shaped into solid blocks. This can also be reinforced with steel and iron rods. This makes for a perfect base and has become the cornerstone of every construction in the UK for new builds.
