For many people, a loft conversion is a great way to give you that bit of extra space in your home – whether you are wanting to accommodate a growing family, create a guest bedroom, or create a new office space to allow you to work from home, there are many ways that a loft conversion can benefit you.

When it comes to lighting the loft conversion, there are many options, but a popular choice is to use spotlight style lights – these can be fitted into those nooks and crannies which are a feature of a room in the roof and can help to add light to areas that normally wouldn’t get any.

Any sort of lighting or electrical can bring with it a risk of fire – a spotlight put into a hole can introduce air so if anything were to malfunction it creates a type of chimney, which could make a fire more likely. However, a great way to get around this and reduce this risk is to use downlight covers around the lights – this creates a seal and stops air from getting in, plugging the hole.

It also stops a draught from getting in, which, especially with energy prices seeming to just keep on rising, will mean that your home is a lot more energy efficient. LED lights themselves are also a great choice if you are looking for something that is energy efficient and log lasting.
