Recyclable Materials

To reduce their carbon footprint, some architects and developers are turning to recycled materials like cardboard, bottles of plastic and scrap metal.

Materials such as carpet and insulation can be used both on the outside and inside of buildings. The material is not only less carbon-intensive, but it can be melted and reused in some cases.

Paper insulation is a great material to use to fill cavities in walls. It is made from recycled newspapers and can be used for building interiors. The insulation is also resistant to insects and free from chemicals, which are often found in foams.
