A food safety breach is when you as a food service employee violate food safety regulations in any way. This can be for a number of reasons, one being that you weren’t following proper sanitation measures and the result was contamination or even poisoning of the food. Another reason could be that you didn’t sanitize the utensils correctly or even did not sanitize them at all. In either case, if food contamination occurs, you will be held liable and could end up having to pay a fine. Food safety violations can result in fines, charges and even jail time, not to mention the negative publicity that will follow. For a Food Hygiene Check, visit https://hygienecheck.net/

What is a food safety breach? Any violation of food service regulations, sanitation measures or even preparation methods and ingredients can result in a food safety breach. This means that there has been a breach in proper hygiene or product handling practices or both. This can happen at your own business or even someone else’s, if they were working for you. Any food that is sent out to the public can have people potentially getting sick from bacteria or harmful substances that they may have come in contact with while serving food.

How can you avoid food safety issues? You need to make sure that all food is properly handled and stored at all times. You need to sanitize all surfaces and equipment thoroughly and make sure that anything that may come in contact with food is sanitized or cleaned before it touches anyone else’s food. Also, you need to have employees trained in food safety and sanitation to avoid food safety breaches from occurring at your business.
