As children many of us enjoyed browsing through the Argos catalogue to ogle row upon row of shiny new toys and games! This was particularly great fun when it was coming up to a birthday or Christmas and you could circle or fold the page over to drop some hints to parents!
In todays age you are more likely to find kids looking for things online rather than poring over a catalogue – but there is still a place in the marketing world for a good catalogue design. Of course, digital marketing has its place, and the internet has saved many companies over the past year, as the pandemic wreaked havoc economically around the globe and forced many shops and businesses to close their doors and quickly find a new way to do business.
Catalogues however still serve an essential purpose when it comes to marketing. When you receive a catalogue, it is not something that you need to react to immediately, but rather something that you keep at your home or business and can refer to when you need it – unlike online adverts which tend to appear when you don’t want them and get in the way of whatever else you are looking for online – whether it is scrolling through your Facebook feed, reading the news, or trying to search for a product that you want at that time.
So, although the world is turning digital, when it comes to marketing it is important to make sure that you don’t leave all marketing tools in the past!
